1. Check the bouquet as soon as it arrives

If it is being delivered to a venue, the named recipient or another responsible person should be ready to accept it. 2. Choose the right place for display

Position the bouquet indoors in a cool, dry area where it can be seen without being constantly touched. Keep it away from radiators, fires, heaters, direct sunlight, strong draughts and sources of heat. Do not place it against a hot window or beside a cooking area. Rapid changes in temperature can affect the appearance and firmness of balloons.

A stable floor, table or reception surface is preferable to a narrow ledge. Leave space for people to walk past safely, and keep it clear of doors, cupboard openings and busy serving areas. 3. Handle balloons and ribbons gently

Keep sharp objects well away from the bouquet. This includes scissors, craft tools, jewellery with prominent points, exposed hooks and rough wall or furniture edges. Do not tape, pin or tie balloons to another object unless you are following instructions supplied with the bouquet. Adhesive and fastenings can damage balloon surfaces or leave an arrangement unstable.

Ribbons may shift as the bouquet is moved. If they become untidy, use fingertips to ease them into place from the lower section upwards. Avoid tugging individual strands or trying to retie the bouquet.

4. Understand changes over time

Balloons do not remain identical indefinitely. You may notice gradual changes in firmness, height or surface appearance as time passes.
